38Your first Kick stream with OBS: connect and go live
You need the server address and stream key from your Kick dashboard. The key belongs to a particular channel: paste it into OBS without showing it on screen.
Connect OBS to your channel
Prepare a scene and test audio with a local recording first. Starting the stream sends a real broadcast to the platform.
- In Kick, open Streamer Dashboard → Channel → Stream URL and Key.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose Custom, and paste Server and Stream Key into their fields.
- In Output, use compatible settings: H.264, CBR, and a 2-second keyframe interval. Choose a bitrate your connection supports, not exceeding 8000 Kbps.
- Check the stream title and category in Kick, then press Start Streaming in OBS.
If the stream does not appear
Check the server address, key, and OBS messages. Do not mix keys from different accounts. If you reset the key in Kick, update the saved value in OBS.
A local recording does not test the Kick connection. After starting, open your channel page and check the actual broadcast.
After starting
- The channel displays the intended scene.
- Voice and game audio are audible without duplicates.
- The title and category match the content.
When finished checking, use Stop Streaming and confirm that the channel no longer displays the current live broadcast. Save the working configuration for your next stream.
